Presentation transcript:

406 “The Solid Rock” My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus' name. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

406 “The Solid Rock” When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace; In ev’ry high and stormy gale, My anchor holds within the veil. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

406 “The Solid Rock” His oath, His covenant, His blood Support me in the whelming flood; When all around my soul gives way, He then is all my Hope and Stay. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

406 “The Solid Rock” When He shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found; Dressed in His righteousness alone, Faultless to stand before the throne. On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand, All other ground is sinking sand.

Prayer of Blessing for Bread of Life Ministries

Leader: For this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example so that you should follow in his footsteps.

All: As our young people follow in your footsteps, we ask your blessing upon them. May your fire of compassion and call to Christian action ever burn brightly in their lives.

Leader: He bore our sins in his body on the cross so that, free from sins, we might live for righteousness.

All: It is for us all that you died Christ Jesus All: It is for us all that you died Christ Jesus. Help us to remember the least of these who are your children whom you love. With these gifts of food we pray your blessing upon those who are patrons of Bread of Life Ministries. May you sustain them and hold them in your loving arms.

Leader: By his wounds you have been healed

All: We have been healed through your salvation All: We have been healed through your salvation. May we all live out our calling to be your hands of love and healing to a hurting world. The harvest is great but the workers are few. Lord please bless those who minister in your name to your people. Amen.

We Need To Learn The Basic Principles Of Prayer From Jesus INTRODUCTION   The Pathway To Powerful Prayer Will Be Revealed To Us If We Will Listen To Jesus. We Need To Learn The Basic Principles Of Prayer From Jesus

There Must First Be A Desire To Learn What You Think You Already Know. Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." Luke 11:1 (NKJV)

Now! Look At The Principles Jesus Laid Out For Powerful Prayer. Most Christians Learned To Pray By Some Other Person’s Example Or By Our Own Definition.   Now! Look At The Principles Jesus Laid Out For Powerful Prayer.

JESUS TELLS US HOW TO APPROACH GOD!

I. THE ATTITUDE OF PRAYER.

Now it came to pass, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, that one of His disciples said to Him, "Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples." So He said to them, "When you pray, say: Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Luke 11:1-2 (NKJV)

And forgive us our sins, For we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Luke 11:4a (NKJV) “…bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.” Luke 6:28 (NKJV)

Principle #8 We are instructed to approach Him with an Awareness Principle #8 We are instructed to approach Him with an Awareness. "Lead us not into temptation"

And do not lead us into temptation" Luke 11:4 (NKJV)   Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. James 1:13 (NKJV)

No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NKJV)

Principle #9 We are instructed to approach Him with helplessness Principle #9 We are instructed to approach Him with helplessness. "Deliver us from the evil one"

And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:13 (NKJV)

APPLICATION

5 And He said to them, "Which of you shall have a friend, and go to him at midnight and say to him, 'Friend, lend me three loaves; 6 for a friend of mine has come to me on his journey, and I have nothing to set before him'; 7 and he will answer from within and say, 'Do not trouble me; the door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed; I cannot rise and give to you'?

8 I say to you, though he will not rise and give to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence he will rise and give him as many as he needs. 9 "So I say to you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.

11 If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? 12 Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? 13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke 11:5-13 (NKJV)

THE EMPTY CHAIR

285 “Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” Take up thy cross and follow Me," I heard my Master say; "I gave My life to ransom thee, Surrender your all today." Wherever He leads I'll go, I'll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever He leads I'll go.

“Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” He drew me closer to His side, I sought His will to know, And in that will I now abide, Wherever He leads I'll go. Wherever He leads I'll go, I'll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever He leads I'll go.

“Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” It may be thro' the shadows dim, Or o'er the stormy sea, I take my cross and follow Him, Wherever He leadeth me. Wherever He leads I'll go, I'll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever He leads I'll go.

“Wherever He Leads I’ll Go” My heart, my life, my all I bring To Christ who loves me so; he is my Master, Lord, and King, Wherever He leads I'll go. Wherever He leads I'll go, I'll follow my Christ who loves me so, Wherever He leads I'll go.

Benediction
