Channel Emulator – why ? Eficient + Cost Effective emulation of long channels. Eliminates the need for 100s – 1000s of meters of cables in the lab. Gives online statistics about traffic, efficiency etc. Easy to use, PC based hardware

Intel will supply A/D, D/A cards Implementation on a GIDEL PROC board, Or with a DSP. Easy to use, software interface Structure Diagram Configurable digital filter A/D D/A Configuration Interface magnetics cable Noise sources statistics input output

Specifications System will enable communications at up to 60 MHz (exact operating speed – under research). Optional: –Display of channel statistics. –Thermal + electrical noise sources. –FD emulation – bi-directional channel emulation.
