DIPPING INTO TOBACCO ENFORCEMENT IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS WYOMING THROUGH WITH CHEW NIKI SUE MUELLER, PROGRAM DIRECTOR CANDIDA ODDE, PROJECT COORDINATOR

Objectives Participants will gain knowledge of the process that Wyoming followed in obtaining and supporting Tobacco Free Schools of Excellence Policies Participants will learn the process of creating a toolkit designed to support Tobacco Free Schools of Excellence Participants will receive an Educator Toolkit

Tobacco Free Schools of Excellence Criteria ADOPT a school or district-wide policy that prohibits tobacco use by all persons-in all venues and areas ENFORCE the policy PROVIDE students who use tobacco with a quit program ENCOURAGE staff to utilize available cessation services IMPLEMENT tobacco prevention curriculum at every grade level INVOLVE students in coalitions and tobacco prevention programs ENLIST school staff to participate with community tobacco prevention
