How to register for Scopus Step by step instruction in using your own Registration number and Password Tefko Saracevic

Preparation Unlike Dialog where you received a user number and password and you were ready to login, in Scopus you have to register first, to get your User Name and choose your own Password and only then you can login You have received your Scopus Registration number (looks like this): 12345678x123 (case sensitive, x is lower case!) and Password (looks like this): 1234567 You will use these only once – for registration during registration Scopus will assign you a User Name and you will choose your own password; you will use these to login into Scopus Tefko Saracevic

To register all you need to do is open your web browser and type in the URL http://www.scopus.com/scopus/personalization/bulkActivation.url and enter your registration ID and password as provided in the email you received – DO NOT USE THE EXAMPLES BELOW EXAMPLES ONLY!!! Instructions as provided by Scopus cont … After entering your registration ID and password, click submit. You will now be asked to complete a brief user profile in order to activate your profile. As part of your user profile you will be prompted to select a personal password. After submitting the profile you will be assigned a user name valid for use on Scopus & ScienceDirect through your institution. Your user name will be based on combination of your given name and your family name as it appears in your profile. Both the user name and the password are case sensitive. To access Scopus after your initial registration, go to the URL http://www.scopus.com . Enter your new user name and password in the fields at the top right of the Web Page. Fifth step: Up to you to provide additional information; I ignored it click Submit Tefko Saracevic

Sixth step: note your user name - to be used in all future logins, together with Password you have chosen Tefko Saracevic

Seventh step: fill in login information, including password you have chosen; click login (Note: this time Scopus will automatically enter your User Name, but not anymore) Tefko Saracevic
