Joint UL Meeting May 24, Audit  Price Waterhouse Coopers completed an assessment of current Data Center at ASB  IBM provided a range of solutions Provost and CFO mandate  Find a long term Disaster Recovery solution Three viable options explored  New MITC building located off State Street, north of Campus t Primarily designed for research computing across multiple university divisions  Explore options with IT Commons Group that looks for ways to leverage common services, software and hardware  Partner with MCIT (Medical Center IT) t MCIT already had approval for a secondary computing site Project History

Joint UL Meeting May 24, 2006 Move Information Phase 2 Will move production systems  Tentative dates: 5:00 p.m. Friday, August 4 to 7:00 a.m. Monday, August 7  Most users impacted  Functions impacted t FINPROD, FINODS, HEPROD, HEODS, Data Warehouse, eResearch, MAIS LINC, WebNow, ImageNow, most Wolverine Access web servers, most citrix servers, etc.  Physical move contracted with IBM  Contingency contract with all hardware vendors

Joint UL Meeting May 24, 2006  Diesel generator (redundant power supply)  Fire suppression system  Under the floor water detection capability  Enhanced security t At the building entrance t Key card access to the machine room  Flexible work areas t 4670 sq ft of raised floor space t MAIS will occupy 1200 sq. ft.  Network infrastructure to support production level SLA  Supporting infrastructure enables future growth Building Enhancements
