Responding to our Users  Student Senate representatives ask for help in establishing a DVD collection for recreational viewing  The Senate contributes $10,000 towards the collection  The library agrees to purchase, process and circulate the collection through the Multimedia Center

DVDs and Videos  Voyager (WebVoyage) just didn’t cut it  Not browse-able  Cumbersome limits page to work through  UC Berkeley  Created a separate interface  Search by keyword  Browse by title, genre, language, and director  Customized metadata display on results screen  Automated system with data maintained in Voyager

A Few More Numbers…  The current Student DVD collection has 1,866 DVDS  They have circulated a total of 93,475 times!  170 out of 171 students surveyed said the Video DVD collection was a good use of SA funds.
