Agenda Welcome and Introductions Research Findings Discussion of Draft Policy Recommendations Lunch at Noon Preliminary LINC Report Next Steps Meeting Materials

Reimbursement Due to the university holiday break, please give your travel voucher to a LINC project staff member before you leave the meeting today ( if possible).

LINC Gap Analysis Survey Results Surveys to elementary school principals and a sample of early childhood center directors What stood out when you read the research result summaries? What surprised you? Which of the findings seem most important to our work and policy recommendations?

Policy Recommendations The LINC Committee Charge – To develop and implement policies and practices that address the missing links in creating a learning continuum to support the whole child from birth to beyond and the role that early childhood and K-12 school leaders play in their efforts to collaborate with families, support agencies, and community and state stakeholders to provide high quality learning and developmental opportunities for children. Go to Policy Recommendations document – In light of our charge, your colleagues’ feedback, and the research findings: What additions/modifications to the recommendations would you suggest? Should we omit any of these recommendations?

Preliminary Report Title, transmittal letter, membership list Introduction: Supporting a learning continuum from birth to adulthood Guiding Principles: Leadership matters, early learning investment pays later dividends, early learning and K-12 can learn from each other LINC Research Recommendations Conclusion Definitions Your Feedback : How is the report shaping up? Do you have any recommendations for content or structure that will help support the policy recommendations?

Next Steps: Where do we go from here? How should we proceed from here in terms of? – Finalizing the report – Disseminating the report – Strategies toward implementing the policy recommendations and continuing LINC (who, what when, where, and how)

REMEMBER TO TURN IN YOUR TRAVEL VOUCHER BEFORE YOU LEAVE! Happy Holidays from the LINC project staff!
