Outline FY2006 Update –Sponsored Program Awards –Research Expenditures –Intellectual Property FY06 Licensing Income and Patent Costs Michigan Tech’s Research Rankings, FY04

FY2006 Update Sponsored Program Awards Awards through FY06 totaled $43,643,347, an increase of 16.8% over FY05 Federal awards totaled $31,943,677, an increase of 27.2% over FY05

FY2006 Update Research Expenditures Research expenditures in FY06 totaled $44,199,615, an increase of 7% over FY05 Facility and Administrative (Indirect) cost recovery totaled $5,974,152 in FY06, an increase of 7% over FY05

FY2006 Update Intellectual Property Licensing income in FY06 totaled $462,925, an increase of 12% over FY05. Of the total, $100,827 was distributed to the inventors and $112,136 was distributed to departments.

Michigan Tech’s Research Rankings Michigan Tech’s national research ranking improved from 188 th to 179 th among all institutions, and from 167 th to 129 th among public institutions. Michigan Tech’s Engineering ranking improved from 90 th to 75 th Our highest ranked discipline is mechanical engineering at 26 th, an improvement from 29 th last year
