The Providence of God

…for your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him. Matthew 6.25b

"Nevertheless He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good, gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness." Acts 14.17

“General” Providence Matthew

Psalm

He makes nations great, and destroys them; He enlarges nations, and guides them. Job 12.23

And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. Daniel 2.21

…for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. Matthew 5.45b

“Special” Providence Matthew

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. Psalm 37.23

In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3.6

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. Romans 8.28

The “How” of Providence

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth, Psalm

This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." John 3.2

…spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? Hebrews 2.3b-4
