Cor-Met Die Welding TE 4000 Independent Study in Technology By Aaron Kiilunen Advisor: John Irwin, EdD

Die as Received ► Die Size: 12000lb ► Die Material: FX ► HRC 30.9 post tempered ► F1 is open die that is used to make forged steel mill rolls ► The rolls start out as a cast ingot then are forged to increase the toughness and strength of the rolls

Welding in Process ► Welding in operation ► Air intake on sides of die close enough to take away fumes but not too close to disrupt shielding gas from MIG gun

Finished F1 Die ► Completed Die ready to be shipped out
