Key points about the ePortfolio for UG and PGT students An update for staff at the start of 2011/12

What is our commitment to the UG and PGT ePortfolio? To enhance and promote ePortfolio as a tool for UG and PGT students’ PDP and Personal Tutoring To enhance and promote ePortfolio as a tool for UG and PGT students to record, reflect on, and further their skills development …as part of the ‘Offer’ for 2012

Key points about ePortfolio It’s student-led: most information is added by students, not by staff It’s long and wide: students can use it to reflect on how their Modules contribute to their Degree Programme It includes a tool for students and Personal Tutors to record their meetings

Key points about ePortfolio and Personal Tutoring Students and Personal Tutors can share records of meetings Personal Tutors can make private notes about their tutees Senior Tutor access is in development: we are seeking input from Personal Tutors and Senior Tutors in 2011/12

Student views on the ePortfolio 92 student users were surveyed by a student intern in 2011: ‘It encourages you to think about all the skills that you have gained’ ‘Serves as a reminder for skills I’ve used when writing personal statements and applications for jobs’ ‘It is easy to access and simple to use!’

Who is your contact for the UG and PGT ePortfolio? Lydia Wysocki Development Officer in QuILT phone x8952 Worked with a student intern to produce the ePortfolio leaflet for students Secretary to ePortfolio Steering Group (Chaired by Barry Hirst), to coordinate pedagogical and software development of ePortfolio
