Race Details Starting point & Ending point: VJC Flag-off timings 0730 VJ Men’s, Open Men’s 0750 Open Mixed 0810 VJ Mixed, Open Women’s Please report 1 hour before your race flag-off time

Race Proceedings (during) Listen to all instructions given by Station masters, Race Officials and Race Marshals Race route will be marked with signage and marshals In cases of minor injury, you are expected to be self-sufficient in applying First Aid There will be first aid stationed along the race route and at every checkpoint In cases of any major accident, please contact the Race Director Lemuel at *all safety rules and regulations must be strictly followed

Race Proceedings (during) Injury and withdrawal from race Approach the nearest marshal or checkpoint official and inform them of your decision Wait for further instructions to be picked up and sent back to VJC

Race Proceedings (during) At the finishing line, immediately approach the End-point Official with your race passport for the tabulation of results

Race Proceedings (during) CUT-OFF TIME Mid-race cut-off point at checkpoint 7 is at 230pm Teams who are cut-off are to await instructions to be picked up and sent back to VJC

Appeals Appeals will on begin after the results of the top 6 teams of every category has been released Appealing may be done within 30 minutes of the release of results, after which appeals will not be entertained

Race Proceedings (after) Proceed to the baggage deposit classroom with your Race Tag to collect your baggage and Goodie-Bag. Prize presentation will commence 1-hour after the release of results. Instructions will be given.

Race Ranking The team who has the MOST NUMBER of completed checkpoints with the FASTEST TIMING will be ranked at the top The team with the fastest timing but not the most number of completed checkpoint will be ranked behind

Bottlenecks In the event of a bottleneck, the task will be completed in a first-come first-serve basis. Teams must quickly approach the Station Master with their Race Passport in order to ‘get in line’.

Bottlenecks STOP TIME -teams are allowed to approach OFFICIALS in order to receive a ‘stop time’ for waiting in line -Officials will sign over the amount of stop time given on the PASSPORT

Priority The top THREE teams of each category will be given priority to attempt station tasks after the 7th Checkpoint.

Attire Race Singlet, running shorts/tights X-training shoes Attach the race tags to the front of your race singlet

DARE 2 Safety Briefing

Health Prior to Race Day Seek and obtain medical clearance Have ample of rest Carbo-load and be well-hydrated On Race Day Be responsible of your own involvement in the race You are the sole judge of whether you should continue with the race or not Be well-equipped with food (e.g. energy bars) and water Seek medical attention immediately if you are feeling unwell Administer basic first aid on your team mate for minor injuries like cramps, scratches, etc. Water points Every station At certain stations, isotonic drinks will be provided

In case of any Emergency First Aid and Help First Aid posts and officers located along the race route 2 Ambulances on standby In the event of a medical emergency or other request for help, the entire team must stop till appropriate and effective assistance arrives at the scene. Road Safety Give way to pedestrians at all times Follow all traffic rules such as no jaywalking. If caught by race officials, teams may be given time penalties. Racers are to dismount and push their bikes across traffic lights and all bridges.

Individual Race Disciplines Safety Biking Helmets must be worn at all times during the biking segment. Climbing Safety harness must be worn by the participant climbing during the climb. Teams who fail to do so will not be allowed to attempt the station. Kayaking and Paddle-Board Each team member must wear a life vest for the kayaking leg and paddle-boarding leg. Participants are advised to notify race officials by blowing their whistle in the event of distress. Official assistance will be rendered to teams who capsize. Such teams will not be penalized.

Race Clinic Abseiling Abseiling is beside the rockwall, first-come-first- serve basis. Orienteering Knowing how to orienteer is an important part in the race, for those who are unsure, please approach the Orienteering I/C next to the rockwall.
