REMODECE Project: WP4: Measurement / Surveying Campaigns status Markogiannakis Georgios Centre for Renewable Energy Sources Department for Energy Policy Analysis CRES ΚΑΠΕ 4 th REMODECE project meeting Coimbra, September 2007

REMODECE – WP4 Surveying Campaign CRES ΚΑΠΕ  400 Questionnaires distributed to consumers  60 Monitoring Campaign  90 Surveying Campaign  1 st round by (140 questionnaires)  limited feedback (10% returned)  Door-to-door (60 questionnaires)  Better results (67% returned)  Uploaded to CRES website (15 questionnaires received)

REMODECE – WP4 Monitoring Campaign CRES ΚΑΠΕ  62 Households (DIACE system)  Monitoring applied to:  TVs (62)  TV peripherals as sets (DVD players, amplifiers, decoders…) (60)  Audio (Hi–Fi) (40)  Computer sites (55)  Most common used lamps (6-10 per household)  Air – condition (17 households)  Stand – by consumption  Recorded individually for each appliance [I (A), V (V), cos(φ)]

REMODECE – WP4 Monitoring Campaign CRES ΚΑΠΕ  Recording of the indication on the utility meter  Start of monitoring  End of monitoring  Restrictions due to metering equipment  For more detailed monitoring  For more houses

REMODECE – WP4 Monitoring Campaign CRES ΚΑΠΕ Changes to the metering format  Aa aa aa to aa aa  E.g. in case of 2 computer sites in a household (05 00 – 05 01)  Changes will be made with respect to the database format  Lamp metering  Almost 15% of data are lost  Due to software errors

REMODECE – WP4 Problem areas  Questionnaires   Limited feedback  Door-to-door  Time restrictions (is not time effective)  Monitoring  15% error to lighting measurements  Restrictions due to limited amount of metering equipment (details, number of monitored houses) CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data Management §Databases l Appliances l Lighting Data available in text files CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples) §Error correction l Errors returned by the system l Manual correlation §Charts l Average total electricity consumption (2 week period, 15 houses) CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples) §Charts l Stand-by consumption compared to the energy consumed by the monitored appliances (15 houses) 22,1 % stand – by of the monitored appliances 3% of the total consumption CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples)  Charts l Comparison of the energy consumed to different types of equipment (15 houses) CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples) §Pie charts for each household CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples) §Air – condition CRES ΚΑΠΕ

REMODECE – WP4 Data processing (examples) §PC consumption CRES ΚΑΠΕ
