Note on IRR & NPV One deficiency of IRR is that it does not indicate the absolute size of the return Example: Example: a project with an NPV of $100,000 and IRR of 15% can be more attractive than one with an NPV of $10,000 and IRR of 18%  the return of capital is lower but the net benefits greater
