 Chester Simms was an early pioneer in the Las Vegas gaming business. This scholarship was founded due to Mr. Simms’ deep interest in formal education.  Undergraduate special education majors with financial need to be determined by the Student Financial Services Office and have current FAFSA on file.  Students are awarded for excellence in addiction studies: ◦ Undergraduate students must be enrolled full time, 12 or more credits, and:  Be a junior or senior with a declared minor in Addiction Treatment, Addiction Prevention, or Problem Gambling Counseling  Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 ◦ Graduate students must be enrolled full time, 6 or more credits, and:  Must pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health with an emphasis in Addictions, or an Advanced Certificate in Addictions Studies 2010 Scholarship Recipients.
