 Sheriff Keller began his career in law enforcement in 1969 with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. He served as Sheriff of the LVMPD from Together with his wife Charlotte, they served the Las Vegas community particularly in education.  This scholarship is for students who are undergraduate education majors enrolled in student teaching and are Nevada residents  2010 Scholarship Recipient: ◦ Ms. Ruiz

 Chester Simms was an early pioneer in the Las Vegas gaming business. This scholarship was founded due to Mr. Simms’ deep interest in formal education.  Undergraduate special education majors with financial need to be determined by the Student Financial Services Office and have current FAFSA on file.  For sophomores, junior and seniors in undergraduate programs in elementary education. Student must be enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and maintain a 2.75 GPA.  2010 Scholarship Recipient: ◦ Ms. Collins

 Students are awarded for excellence in addiction studies: ◦ Undergraduate students must be enrolled full time, 12 or more credits, and:  Be a junior or senior with a declared minor in Addiction Treatment, Addiction Prevention, or Problem Gambling Counseling  Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 ◦ Graduate students must be enrolled full time, 6 or more credits, and:  Must pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health with an emphasis in Addictions, or an Advanced Certificate in Addictions Studies 2010 Scholarship Recipients.
