Honors Program/SLIP Application Tips Carefully select one to three organizations. Think through your ranking. Be practical: Does your resume demonstrate an interest in the field? Consider the number of available vacancies. Use “Employment” screens to sell your skills and background.

More Honors Program/SLIP Application Tips Provide thoughtful, well-crafted responses to short-answer questions, such as “Why do you want to work for the Department of Justice and what attracts you to the components you selected?” –Avoid TMI & oversharing. –Exactly what message do you want to send? –Answers viewed as mini-writing samples. Take advantage of the “Additional Information” screen to flesh out earlier “check the box” qualifications you listed and provide other relevant information.

DOJ reserves the right to disqualify any candidate whose application materials contain false, misleading, or substantially inaccurate information and may report the factual basis for such action to the applicant’s law school for further review.
