Galileo was an Italian Astronomer who made a notable contribution to mathematics.

*Galilei Galileo lived from 1564 to * Glalilei lived in Pisa, Italy.

Galilei discovered that Jupiter had satellites or moons in orbit around it. The picture to the right are his notes for this discovery.

* Galileo studied medicine at the University. * He began skipping his medical classes to attend mathematic lectures. * He wrote the laws of motion. * He invented the Telescope.

Galileo Galilei discovered the Scientific Notation. He invented the Pulse Counter, used by doctors to check patient’s heart rates. He discovered the law of pendulum. He Discovered the Law of Falling Bodies. Galilei was the professor of mathematics in Pisa.
