List and Details of Sources of Interference Kawsu Sidibeh Surrey Space Centre, University of Surrey, UK ESA Wireless Study WP 2.1

WP1:II2 Presentation Outline  List of sources of RF Interference  Wireless Power Spectral Density  Interference Scenarios.

WP1:II3 Sources of interference  IM Distortion :  multiple access interference (MAI).  Thermal-Noise & Interfering Signal :  Gaussian noise (AWGN).  RF transmission from multiple devices sharing the same band.  Flat-fading  results from degradations that are correlated and occurs in bursts.  inverse of the maximum Doppler frequency,, and is a function of the mobility of the user.  Frequency-selective fading:  results from multipath fading, which generates delay spreads in the channel impulse response (CIR).  causes intersymbol interference (ISI).  inversely proportional to the transmission rate.  DC-to-DC Converters  Local Oscillators  Wheels

WP1:II4 Power Spectral Density of Wireless Standards ZigBee Tx Mask Bluetooth Tx Mask Wi-Fi Tx Mask WiMAX Tx Mask

WP1:II5 Interference with S-Band Freq- U/L (GHz) Freq- D/L (GHZ) Data Rate( Kbps) GT (dBi) GR (dBi) NF (dB) TxPwr (W) RxPwr (mW) Sensit ivity (dBm) S- Band 2.06z ISM Using Frii’s Equation for free space radiation. The rejection performace is measured with the desired signal at -114 (sensitivity of SSTL S-Band) If the received power is -108 than there is a 6 dB margin. In this case the interferer has no influence on the desired signal reception

WP1:II6 Conclusion
