Presentation transcript:

PPME Training in IAC, Netherlands Organisation: Sida-Amhara Rural Development Program (SARDP) Experience with (P)PME: »Involving in the consolidation of planning documents of projects and programs. »Prepare and Consolidate periodic progress reports of projects /programs. »Collect base line data and impact monitoring using PRA tools and methods.

Key Objectives of SARDP: To strengthen decentralised development planning, implementation, management & use of the required services. To bring about sustainable increase in agricultural productivity & production, conservation and sustainable use of natural resources. To diversify the economy and increase income of the households through off-farm income generating activities with credit access. To improve rural roads which enhance input supply, marketing of products and social services. To improve good governance.

Strategies of SARDP: Through the involvement of concerned stakeholders at each stage of the project cycle. Creating the required linkage among stakeholders. Provision of training for program beneficiaries at each level.

Beneficiaries of SARDP: The grass root community who are mainly engaging in subsistence agriculture in the two districts of the Amhara regional state. Administration and sector offices at each level.

Other principal stakeholders:  The donor( Sweden International Development Co- operation Agency)  The private sector

The core (P) PME issue/problem to be addressed:  How to evaluate the impact of the program intervention separately (with and without the program).  Lack of proper data base system  How to formulate planning matrix (LFA) for a complex program like SARDP which has different components (Especially how to select appropriate indicators at each level of the intervention logic).

learning objectives for the PPME course: To learn on different PPME tools and practice in SARDP. To provide PPME training for the program beneficiaries at each level.
