Miss Buchek’s Kindergarten Class Welcome to Our Virtual Field Trip To Camps for Children With Disabilities

New York State Standards, Themes and Objectives o Social Studies Standard 5 - Civics, Citizenship, and Government, Key Idea 4-Students show a willingness to consider other points of view before drawing conclusions or making judgment. o The theme is diversity. o The objectives for this virtual field trip is to explain, where, who, what, and why we have these camps. o Students will be able to understand that we all might look the same we are not all the same. o Students will be able to understand that although some people may look different doesn’t mean weird. o The Importance of diversity of self and others.

Children with Disabilities Today we are going to take a trip to some camp around America for children who are sick. A Disability is anything that puts one at a disadvantage

Purpose For the Camps These camps are to provides camping and year round services for children and families dealing with life-threatening illnesses in order to make their lives better and provide experiences that they will remember, will be fun, safe for them.

Our First Stop: This camp is located right here in Lake Luzurne, New York

Our Second Stop: This camp is located in New Haven, Connecticut

Our Finial Stop: This camp is located in Eustis, Florida “The main purpose of Boggy Creek is to forget you have what you have”

Review o This field trip was to go on a trip and see places where sick children can go for fun. o You can go just about any where we want with permission for an adult. Places such as the park or even just the mall. o Sick children need extra care and these camps make a fun place for them to go.
