EM Calorimetry Study Jaewon Park University of Rochester MINERvA/Jupiter Group Meeting, Sep 5, 2006

Overview Preliminary ECAH study  Electron beam is used. (Previous HCAL study uses proton beam) Looked at Energy dependence, Vertex Z dependence, theta dependence Try to find calibration constant for ECAL  Here, ID means pure plastic scintillator

Calibration factor for ECAL After some tries, ECAL calibration factor 2.5 gives better resolution than 1.75

DS-ECAL Energy dependence Vz = 0cm Theta=0deg

DS-ECAL Vertex Z dependence 1GeV electron beam Theta=0deg

Barrel ECAL Theta dependence E=1GeV, Vz = 0cm Theta=0,10,…50de g 2.5 times OD calibration factor seems to prevent leakage but made resolution twice

Thicker ECAL 0.4mm lead gives ~20% decrease on resolution
