11 Water is “Polar” It has one “+” end and one “—” end. Poles on one water interact with oppositely- charged poles on other waters. A 3-D network of intermolecular forces is the result. Most important among these is hydrogen- bonding. Water is, therefore, a liquid (with many unique properties) at ambient conditions.
