WHO IS THE ARCHITECT?

NEO’S DISCUSSION WITH THE ARCHITECT The Architect reveals to Neo that the Matrix is older than he thinks and that this is the sixth version of the Matrix. No one knew about the 5 previous versions of the Matrix and that there were 5 previous incarnations of Neo.

He explains to Neo that the first Matrix was perfect and that it does not survive because the Matrix was too perfect. He redesigns the Matrix based on the history of human behavior.

It is also made clear that Neo is different from his predecessors because of his love for Trinity. The Architect lets the audience know that Neo is not just a computer program but in fact human.

C H O I C E Neo figures out that the problem is choice. If Neo chooses the right hand door, he saves Zion. If he chooses the left hand door, he is risking the lives of every human to save Trinity.
