Weather & Climatic Variation

Concepts What is weather? Weather is the current state of the atmosphere. It is the atmospheric pressure, humidity, wind, rain, cloud coverage and temperature. What is climatic variation Climatic variation is how the global climate and weather has changed over time due to human or regular process Example: during the Ice Age the global average temperature decreased for dramatically for a period of time.

Understanding Process

Climatic Variation The climate is changing because of and increased carbon output. This thickens the atmosphere so it retains more of the suns heat. The CO2 thickens the atmosphere. Normal conditions changed conditions.

Understanding eature=relatedhttp://au.youtube.com/watch?v=TkfhuvOGbmI&f eature=related After seeing these videos we realise that the effects of climatic variation can be devastating and very unpredictable.

Applying See A3 page

Analysis Weather is the current conditions in a certain region or the prevailing atmospheric conditions in a local region. Whereas climatic variation is how the regular weather conditions have changed over time because of human input or extended regular cycles. In most cases around the world because of increased carbon content in the atmosphere the temperature on average has risen. This has led to more severe storms and more extreme weather patterns that are different to usual and an increased amount of natural disasters. Proof of this is retreating glaciers as seen. We can try to combat this climatic variation by using energy efficient methods of creating electricity and power.

Evaluation Weather – we can’t to anything about the weather. It is a geographical process that we cannot control. Climatic variation, we need to start to act in a way which reduces our carbon emissions. Which will slow and eventually halt climatic variation. This is very relevant to all of us because it is one of the biggest issues we will ever face. Above is a graph showing the global temperature rise because of climatic variation this demonstrates why we need to change.

Creating What is Weather? What is Climatic Variation? Explain in short Climatic Variation? How do Weather and Climatic Variation Relate? How should we act towards Climatic Variation?
