Why hospitality industry is a high growth industry? Q: What’s most young people’s first job in US in 2004? A: Food services and drinking places! * Over 21% of workers were aged → lots of young people are involved in hospitality industry and chose it as their first job. * Hospitality industry is expected to increase 17% in wage and salary employment between → there are lots of jobs opportunities in hospitality industry!

Trends in the Services Sector Q: Is there advancement or future in the hospitality Industry? A: Lots of youth are unaware of the range of hospitality careers! → there are lots of advancement and development in this field. Q: What’s the priority for employers? A: Find good employees, especially youth workers. Decrease turnover=retain skilled workers → in other words, improve the image of industry! * need to develop targeted strategies for previously untapped labor pools! → need new workforce!
