Adverbs An adverb modifies a verb, an adjective, or another adverb.
Adverbs Part of speech- refers to the way words are used in a sentence.
Adverbs An adverb tells how,when, where, why, how often, to what extent, and how much.
Examples Ice cream sold well. Sold is the verb and well is the adverb The adverb modifies the verb I did badly on the last science quiz. Did is the verb and badly is the adverb. The adverb (badly) modifies the verb (did).
