Project Description To develop a user-friendly, web- based front end for Pro-Engineer in order to eliminate “non- value” activities and drastically cut the design process lead time. “Product Builder” will generate a complete parts list by querying the user a series of questions related to their design utilizing: »user-defined specifications »pull-down lists »related attributes Project 037
User web input must be stored in a database located on customer’s server Easy to maintain with future releases of all related software Software revision control Internal program documentation and external flowchart “Clone-ability” Customer Requirements Project 037
Project Deliverables Robust Access database of sample Pro-E parts containing all inclusive subassemblies, object attributes, attribute types, options, and defaults Create GUI between Pro-E and MS Access database with query options Demonstrate breadth and depth of scope Create interface for database input interfacing with all supported software Develop Quality Control Matrix Project 037
The Team (1) Additional ME –Proficient in Pro-E –Familiar with Visual Basic, ASP, HTML, Java, and/or C (1) EE –Knowledge of Visual Basic, ASP, HTML, Java, and/or C (3) IE –Knowledge of MS Database tools (Access 2000) and “systems thinking” –Also, familiar with programming languages RIT SE Co-op at Fisher-Price Project 037
