Gyrad is a spin-off company from Medical Physic Research of the University of Algarve. Provide services of Quality Control of Equipments of Radiological Units, with the goal to certify the continuous functioning of health facilities equipments.

SPAROS is a spin-off company of the Centre of Marine Sciences of Algarve (CCMAR) / University of Algarve, devoted to innovate in the development of new products and processes for fish feeding and nutrition.

MarSensing was created as a spin-off project from the Underwater Acoustic Signal Processing Laboratory (SiPLAB) located at the University of the Algarve. The expertise include the development of various marine sensing technologies, measurements and signal processing in underwater acoustics.

GenoGla Diagnostics is a recently created spin-off of the University of Algarve. The company was first created to serve as a platform to commercially explore the newly developed products and technologies that are included in an international patent application (PCT/PT ; U. S. Patent 61/ filled in 27 August 2008) as well as to pursue research and explore new findings and patents originating from collaboration research contracts (e.g. on bone and cardiovascular health, skin care, cancer and diagnostics).
