National Post-secondary Student Aid Study (NPSAS 98) July 1, 2007 – June 30, 2008 undergraduate students Campuses sends list to RTI w/o identifying info RTI selects sample & notifies campus Campus provides RTI info on academic work & financial aid package of study population (including identifying info) RTI surveys students directly Sample: students depending on enrollments Four campuses in pilot study this year: Alfred Ceramics, Brockport, Delhi, & Old Westerbury
IPEDS Winter window closes January 24 th –Enrollments/Finance/Employees –CC’s may complete Finance during Spring Spring collection opens March 8 th –GRS, Student Fin Aid, CC Finance Data changes in the future: –First-Professional Characteristics & Enrollments: Optional 2008/09/Mandatory 2009/10 Completions – Optional /Mandatory 2010/11 –Race/Ethnicity Mandatory in 2009/10 or 2010/11
Fall SDF/EOT SDFs due at the end of the semester/term except in the fall In fall, campuses submit an official SDF early November and an optional EOT at the end of the semester EOT contains late starting courses SUNY combines the SDF & EOT file EOT due Feb 9 th (we’ll work with campuses but not like last year)

Presidential Evaluations SUNY has developed a new presidential evaluation format Based on standardized tables maintained by Academic Affairs & Finance Really helps IR in supporting process State Operated campuses only!

Teacher Certification Examination Database Purpose to assist teacher ed programs gain accreditation SUNY IR will update database annually Local IR gatekeeper of protected discs –Maintain discs and non-disclosure agreements Discs without protected data may be used freely
Course Re-design Focus on multi-section introductory courses 15 courses account for almost half lower division SCH & Faculty Contact Hours Many of these courses are “killer” courses Grants help campuses re-design courses (using technology) to improve student success Trustees/campus academic leaders received a presentation about this program
Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange (CSRDE) Share aggregate retention and graduation data – 440 institutions last year First-time Full-time cohorts last year –This year Data comparisons: –Institutional size –Selectivity –Demographics SUNY participation: 2 doctoral & 6 comprehensive Cost: probably less than $300
