Persuasive Purposes  To create a fast paced 2D/3D fighting action game that will provide a decent level of challenge to the players  To guide the players through the mystic world of the Zodiac warriors

Player Types The game will be targeted for PC gamers who thrived for fast paced combat games but who also seek a decent storyline behind the game Rated T (Teen) Game - Minor Corse Language - Minor Sexual Theme Players are likely to be: -Action game lover -Age 13+ ESRB Rated T for Teens

Storyboard Long ago, Apollo – the Sun God raged a war against the Goddess of Moon – Luna. The battle between them was a one-sided battle, the goddess of moon’s power was far lesser than of Apollo. One day, however, the tide of the battle suddenly changed. Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war send 12 of her guardians to aid the moon goddess. Each of these guardians wore a very special armor on them, which granted them tremendous power that could even cut through the sky and break the earth. By the end of the war, however, the 12 guardians have all perished and their armors all fell into the realm of humans and were lost for centuries. Centuries have passed since the great war. One day, our character has found a golden box washed up onto the shore near his home. Curious of what was inside, our character opened the box and found a set of golden armor and a growing purple orb inside. Suddenly, purple orb shoot up into the sky and exploded. Sending 12 pieces of shards into different directions. While our character was amazed of what has happened, the goddess Athena showed up and explained that the Orb of Apollo has taken control of the 12 Zodiac armors and has send his own warriors to destroy the human realm by using the armors. With her limited power, Athena created a brand new armor for our character and asked him to set out and destroy the original 12.

Features  12 playable characters for players to select each with its own special weapon to use  14 stages to play through  Points will be awarded to the player depending on how well the player survived through each stage.  Points awarded will be used for the Character development system to allow players to personalize their own character

Theoretical Justification  Most games take too long to play to complete a single match. Winning or losing a match in an action can be determined within 5 minutes or so.  Action games tend to get players very excited in a short amount of time  2 Player mode will allow more interaction fun between the players  Customizable character will provide players a wider range of developable area for their character and increase the play time  Strong storyline to support each character’s cause to fight in the game

Results of User Testing  User testing has not yet been conducted, so no user data is available  Similar games has long been in the market (ex. Street Fighters Series, Guilty Gears and King of Fighters) - If the mechanics of the game is aligned properly, the game tends to attract supporters

Shortcomings of Design  Battle styles between character varied very little (punch, kick, special… etc)  Lack of strategic motive behind the game, everything is about action  Computer’s processing power might slow down the game

Expansion  2 Players mode to allow player verse player (Single computer, duel inputs)  Network battle mode to allow 1 on 1 and 2 on 2 multiplayer battles  Additional characters to select and battle against  More “special” attacks per character

Next Step in Design Process  Build rapid paper prototype (alpha test)  Character and Character movements/attacks design  Plan out the logic behind the program structure  Design battle stages (background scene)  Beta testing of the game

Summary Zodiac War is an action based game that will guide the players through an epic story of our great hero. The game is designed so that it will allow the players to develop their character toward whatever concentration the players like (strength, speed, power, defense, life).
