Rain Test Chamber

Problem Statement  ITRON Develops Electrical Equipment that is subjected to moisture and rain.  ITRON’s products must meet MILSPEC and/ or IEC standards.  The current state of testing is very limited.

Problem Statement (cont)  The Chamber must be capable of testing to IEC Standards and MILSPEC where available.  Chamber must provide some data to validate the test conditions.  Chamber should be easy to use  Chamber must be durable  Chamber must meet budget constraints.

Current State of testing  Current test device provides for some moisture testing of products  Device does not meet the majority of test specifications for either MILSPEC or IEC  Device yields some meaningful results

Testing requirements

The possibilities are: Version one, Version Two, Version Three

Version One  Would be able to test to:  MILSPEC 1  IEC 1-4  Cost would be:  Chassis  Instrumentation  Pumps and power  Total  =$

Version Two  Would be able to test to  MILSPEC 1,2  IEC 1-6  Cost would be:  Chassis  Instrumentation  Pumps and power  Total  =$

Version Three  Would be able to test to:  MILSPEC 1,3  IEC 1-6  Advanced data and control system  Cost would be:  Chassis  Instrumentation  Pumps and power  Controls and Data  Total  =$10,270.92

Our Recommendation  Version Two  Can test to all required test Specifications  Most Test features for least cost  User friendly  Ease of maintenance
