His father was Zeus, which angered his wife Hera. Hera attempted to kill him with snakes, but he strangled them both. He was just a baby.

Hera, since she hated Heracles, drove him mad. He killed his own family. In order to make up for his sins, he went to work for his cousin, King Eurystheus.

The Lion had supernatural parents, and could not be killed by weapons Heracles killed him in hand to hand combat, by strangulation Heracles wears the lion skin as a cloak

The Hydra was a fierce, many-headed monster. 2 heads grew back for every 1 chopped off Heracles cauterized each wound to prevent head re-growth

Sacred to Artemis, the virgin goddess of the moon and hunting Hercules chased it for a whole year. Pinned it down, didn’t kill it

Had to bring it back alive Forced into a snow bank Carried it back on his shoulder A Centaur was accidentally killed

Had to do it in one day Vast herds of animals Diverted a river to wash the stables clean

These birds killed men with their brass feathers Feasted on human flesh Heracles scared them, then shot them out of the air
