Bastia Umbra Umbria is one of the Italian regions located in the heart of the peninsula. It has a population of roughly 895,280 people. It is one of the smallest Italian regions and is the only Italian region which is not touched by the sea. It is roughly 250 km north of Rome in Lazio and the same distance south of Florence in Tuscany. This region has two provinces: Perugia and Terni. The regional capital is Perugia. 3 MY TOWN: BASTIA UMBRA (PG) Bastia Umbra is a town of 21,364 (as of 2007) inhabitants located in the province of Perugia (center part of Italy) in the plain between Perugia and Assisi along the river Chiascio. This town is of ancient origin but with a modern appearance: the reality today is that of a vibrant and active center where commercial business, work of local craftsmen and industries are in constant development.
