Definition Includes both deaf and hard of hearing Hearing loss interferes with or adversely affects educational performance

Definition Deaf refers to students whose loss is so severe that the auditory channel is not the primary means of developing speech and language skills.

Definition Hard of hearing students generally learn through the auditory channel.

Definition M.E.T must include an audiologist and an otolaryngologist or otologist.
