UNMIS Mandate and Strength On 24 March 2005, UNMIS was established by the UN Security Council to support implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) in Sudan. Current Strength: 8,721 troops, 586 military observers and 631 police, supported by 763 international + 2,356 local civilian personnel, and 252 UN Volunteers. UNITED NATIONS MISSION IN SUDAN (UNMIS)

Core Requirements Essential Goods and Services, by their nature lend themselves to local procurement and are NOT available from HQ contracts. Methods of Solicitation There are three (3) types of solicitation documents currently in use by the UN: Request for Quotation (RFQ) – Up to USD 30,000. For procurement of simple, uncomplicated goods of standard and firm specifications. Method of Response: OPEN QUOTATION Invitation to Bid (ITB) – In excess of USD 30,000. For procurement of goods and services of standard and firm specifications (very clearly defined or continuously used deliverables). Methods of Solicitation (Cont’d) Request for Proposal (RFP) – In excess of USD 30,000. For procurement of goods and services that cannot be quantitatively or qualitatively expressed in sufficient detail, to allow the use of ITB. Method of Response: Separately sealed “Technical Proposal” and “Financial Proposal” Evaluation: Financial Proposals are kept intact until the completion of evaluation for all compliant Technical Proposals. Responses to Solicitation It is utmost important to note of the following: All responses to ITB and RFP must be properly sealed, addressed and delivered to the Chairperson of the UNMIS Tenders Opening Committee. Alternatively, responses could be transmitted to the specific fax number indicated in the solicitation documents. Submission via is not acceptable. Only responses to RFQ could be sent directly to the UNMIS responsible Procurement Officer/Assistant at the contact address indicated in the solicitation documents. Responses to Solicitation (Cont’d) All responses to RFQ, ITB and RFP must be signed and dated by the vendor’s authorized representative. Ensure to attach all relevant documents and fully comply with the instructions given in the solicitation. Incomplete information/documentation may invalid the relevant bid/proposal and disqualify for further consideration. Advise UNMIS in writing, with reason, in case of inability to participate when invited. This is to keep your status active for future invitations. UNITED NATIONS MISSION IN SUDAN (UNMIS)

Vendor Registration UNMIS is still in the process of establishing on-line vendor registration. Meanwhile, all interested vendors are invited to address their requests to: Also, interested vendors are invited to visit the UN Global marketplace (UNGM) at and to register, where the information is shared by the UN Common System. Individual Vendor ID Number will be assigned, following completion of registration process. Vendor Registration (Cont’d) UNMIS requires copy of the following documents: The Vendor’s Business Registration Certificate Formal disclosure of parent companies, if any Most recently audited financial report Listing of minimum three (3) referenced clients for services rendered by the vendor during the past 12 months Recommendation/reference letters from the referenced clients Quality Assurance Certificates issued by international recognizable entities, if applicable Brochures/catalogues of the products and/or services offered.
