EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM FROM ROMANIA

In Romania there are: state accredited schools private accredited schools Accreditation is given by Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance following a comprehensive assessment of schools. Same accreditation is needed for the establishment of a new specialization in a school. Also each school accreditation is evaluated five years overall by this agency.

The disciplins studied are divided into 3 categories: compulsory disciplines- the curriculum is imposed by the Ministry of Education for all the schools diferentiated curriculum that involves different specialised disciplines studied in high school curriculum in local development is prepared according to the resources of the school ( specialists, features), the students option, and training needs of local community.

The disciplines are grouped by subject area in: language and communication area mathematics and nature science area technology area( icluding ITAC and for lower secondary education - tehnology education) man and society area (civics, history, geography, religion physical education and sport Arts educational and vocational guidance and counseling A student has between 20 and 30 hours per week

EDUCATION EVALUATION In primary school students are assessed with an appraisal: very well, well, enough, insufficient In secondary school assessment of student achievement is graded between 1 and 10, the limit for graduating is 5. Students are evaluated at the end of eight classes (14 years) and at the graduation from high school with a national evaluation. Access in the high schools depends on their option but also on the grades obtained in national evaluation.

In order to graduate from high school students have to pass a comprehensive examination ( Bacalaureat) consisting of: oral evidence for Romanian and two foreign languages practical evidence for ITAC written tests in mathematics, Romanian language, and other two disciplines of their choice depending on their specialization.
