The Mobile Urgent Treatment Team (MUTT) was created to help children and teenagers in Crisis. MUTT will answer your questions and concerns about your child by phone or by meeting with you and your child in the community or at your home. A Crisis is any situation in which a child’s behavior escalates so that the parent, caregiver or other community person feels that the child may require help to keep the child and the community safe. Anytime your child or teenager has serious enough behavioral or emotional problems that you feel you need help. Absolutely! Calls are answered 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. However, MUTT staff are only available to go out into the community from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 1:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Call (414) Sometimes there are situations where your child places him or herself in immediate danger. At these times you should call local law enforcement. MUTT can still be of help and assist the police in deciding whether or not to bring the child to the Behavioral Health Division for an evaluation. MUTT will interview you and your child and determine what the problems are and how serious they are. If the problems suggest that your child needs to be in the hospital, MUTT will help with the admission process. However, if there are other ways to help your child without placing them in the hospital, MUTT will talk with you about those ideas. There are a number of solutions in the community, including placement with another family member, respite beds (a place where your child can stay during a “cooling down” period), outpatient counseling or therapy, referral for in-home or other intensive individual or family therapy, and referrals to other agencies. MUTT will attempt to resolve the Crisis as quickly and as effectively as possible. They will attempt to prevent out-of-home placement, while ensuring the safety of the child, his or her family or caregiver, and the community. The Welfare of the Child, Family, and Community is Our Primary Concern! What is MUTT? When should I call MUTT? Can I Call Anytime? What should I do if it’s an Emergency Situation? What can I expect from MUTT? What other ideas might MUTT discuss with me? What is MUTT trying to do for my child?

Milwaukee County Mobile Urgent Treatment Team (MUTT) A Crisis Team created to help Children and Teenagers in Crisis The Mobile Urgent Treatment Team is part of a program called Wraparound Milwaukee. Wraparound Milwaukee is run through the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division and has served families and children since Wraparound is a strength-based and individualized approach to service delivery that is based on families identifying what support they need to care for their youth with complex needs in their home and community. As part of the Wraparound Milwaukee program, the Mobile Urgent Treatment Team (MUTT) provides phone advice and in-home intervention to children who are at risk of being removed from their home due to a mental health crisis. To talk to someone on the Mobile Urgent Treatment Team, call (414) anytime! Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division WRAPAROUND MILWAUKEE 9201 Watertown Plank Road Milwaukee, WI (414)
