Butte County Leaders in Education Briefing May 22, 2015

Agenda Updates in Accountability SBAC Summative Assessment Reports/Results Electronic (preliminary) results Paper reports and data files Parent/Community Communication 2

Accountability Updates Suspension of API (no report has been calculated or posted for the school year) API will eventually be calculated from multiple measures (most likely metrics identified in the LCAP) For Title I K-8 schools and districts: freeze in PI status for CDE is requesting from Federal ED that LEAs with Title I schools in PI, be able to provide their own SES tutoring (using the 20% set-aside) in place of hiring outside entities 3

Development of New Accountability System Allow comparability across schools and districts Focus on a broader set of outcomes Begin with the development of the new high school section: College and Career Indicator (CCI) CCI will consist of components such as: SAT ACT AP classes A-G courses CTE State Seal of Biliteracy AVID Golden State Seal Merit Diploma Etc. 4

CAASPP Reports Assessment Results Individual Student Results – paper copies mailed out 8 weeks after the last school tested District Reports – Online results within 4 weeks after last school tested (Available as of ) DataQuest Public Reports - end of August or September 6

The data available in the CAASPP ORS represents partial and preliminary results that are not appropriate for public release. As a real-time system, results will change as additional data is received and relevant appeals and rescores are processed. These changes may result in final scores being higher or lower than the preliminary results posted to this system. The California Department of Education (CDE) recommends that data from the ORS only be released publically following the state level release of assessment data that occurs in August. Important Reminder 20
