5 top questions readers ask about HOT lanes Didn’t I already pay for these highways? Did they think about doing anything else? Why are tolls so high when I see no congestion? Aren’t they just “Lexus Lanes”? Why can’t we just have more regular lanes?

What the Q&A’s teach Dr. Gridlock People love free stuff. The concept of “dynamic pricing” is hard to explain. Public-private partnerships and dynamic pricing don’t mix well. When you think you explained a project, explain it again. We travelers aren’t always as smart as your roads. But you didn’t think of everything.
