CHILDHOOD She was born on July 10,1875 in Maysville, South Carolina.

CHILDHOOD Her parents were slaves.

CHILDHOOD Her family was very poor.

ADULTHOOD Mary McLeod Bethune studied at religious schools and became a teacher.

ADULTHOOD In 1898 she married Albert Bethune who was a teacher.

ADULTHOOD Mary McLeod Bethune attended a mission school which was called The Moody Bible Institute
