Demonstrative Adjectives indicate where SOMETHING is. They show how close or far an item is from the SPEAKER (YOU). These demonstrative adjectives appear BEFORE the noun. They agree in gender and number with the noun that they describe. In respect to YOU and your location, you will indicate “this item”, “that item”, or “that far away item”: CLOSEFARVERY FAR Masculine Singular EsteEseAquel Feminine Singular EstaEsaaquella Masculine Plural EstosEsosAquellos Feminine Plural EstasEsasaquellas Esta camisa es azul (this CLOSE BY shirt is blue) Esa camisa es rojo (that FAR shirt is red) Aquella camisa es verde (that VERY FAR shirt is green) You

Demonstrative PRONOUNS take the place of nouns. They agree in gender and number with the noun that they REPLACE. ***Note the accent mark.
