NePas Two words : Ne & Pas nepas = Je ne veux pas = I don’t want Je ne peux pas = I cannot

Why an apostrophy? Je aime → j’aime Almost every word that consists of a consonant sound followed by the letter e is contracted when in front of a word that begins with a vowel sound. Je ne aime pas = je n’aime pas
