p. 170 y 171 In this unit, we’ll be learning about Puerto Rico. As you know, Puerto Rico (PR) is a U.S. territory. It is an island in the Caribbean, and its capital is San Juan. PR has a lot of interesting history. “Ownership” of the island transferred from Spain to the U.S after the Spanish- American war. There is an enormous fort that surrounds one end of the island, which was used to defend the Spanish from other groups who wanted to colonize the área. Some of its streets are still made of old materials like cobblestone, etc.
