Italians use the following expressions to describe what they like: mi piace….. is used before a singular noun or a verb in the infinitive (original form). Ex. Mi piace telefonare ad un amico (I like to ring a friend) Ex. Mi piace guardare la televisione (I like to watch tv)

mi piacciono …. is used before a plural noun Ex. mi piacciono le fragole ( I like strawberries)

To express ‘he likes’ or ‘she likes’, the following phrases are used. A Marco piace/piacciono … Marco likes Gli piace/piacciono ….. He likes A Sara piace/piacciono … Sarah likes Le piace/piacciono … She likes

(lui/lei) adora - he/she loves (noi) adoriamo - we love The verb ‘adorare – to love’ can also be used Adorare – to love (io) adoro - I love (tu) adori - you love (lui/lei) adora - he/she loves (noi) adoriamo - we love (voi) adorate - you love (pl) (loro) adorano - they love
