Emotions: Use the verb ESTAR with emotions and feelings: EstoyEstamos Estás EstáEstán

Or, use the verb “sentirse” = to feel Sentirse: Me sientoNos sentimos Te sientes Se siente Se sienten

I am tired = Estoy cansado. I feel tired. Me siento cansado. You are happy (alegre). = Estás alegre. You feel happy. = Te sientes alegre.

Exceptions! With the following feelings, use “tener” instead of “estar”  To be hungry = tener hambre  To be thirsty = tener sed  To be lucky = tener suerte  To be afraid = tener miedo  Tener sueño = to be sleepy  Tener calor = to be hot  Tener prisa = to be in a hurry  Tener miedo = to be afraid/scared  Tener frío = to be cold
