Familiar Commands Commands are use to give instructions or to ask people to do things. In Spanish, there are different forms for the formal (usted/ustedes) and the familiar (tú/vosotros) address. The affirmative tú commandsThe affirmative tú commands have the same form as the third-person singular of the present indicative.( -ar verbs change the ending to -a; -er and -ir verbs change the ending to -e.) Hablar habla tú, comer come tú, escribir escribe tú.

Negative commands Negative commands of -ar verbs are formed by adding -es to the stem of the first-person singular of the present indicative. No peles las papas ahora. negative commandsMost of the negative commands of -er and -ir verbs are formed by adding -as to the stem of the first-person singular of the present indicative. No batas los huevos ahora.

(Don´t forget that when an object pronoun is attached to the command form of two or more syllables, an accent mark is added to show that the stress of the original verb remains the same.) Compra el pollo frito. Cómpralo.
