The United States uses about 346,000 million gallons of water per day

At 50 gallons per day, residential Europeans use about half the amount of water per day that residential Americans use

Residents of Sub-Saharan Africa use 2- 5 gallons of water per day

The New York City water system leaks 36 million gallons of water per day

1,000 gallons of water are required to produce 1 gallon of milk

Roughly 634 gallons of water go into the production of one hamburger

713 gallons of water are used to produce one cotton t-shirt

80% of contaminated water are polluted by land-based activities

40% of all rivers in the US are too polluted for fish to live in.
