Climate Change and Global Warming

What is the difference between global warming and climate change? How are they interrelated?

Global Warming Global warming is the term used to describe the current increase in the Earth's average temperature. global warming is a worldwide phenomena

Climate Change Climate change refers not only to global changes in temperature but also to changes in wind, precipitation, the length of seasons as well as the strength and frequency of extreme weather events like droughts and floods. climate change can be seen at global, regional or even more local scales.

The Big Question! Are humans contributing to global warming which is causing abrupt and dramatic changes in our climate?

Intercontinental Panel on Climate Change according to the Intercontinental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) 2014 Report: Yes!

What is the IPCC? -Made up of 1000’s of scientist worldwide. They are the International body for assessing the science related to climate change. -set up in 1988 by the Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to provide policymakers with regular assessments on climate change, its impacts on future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation. -endorsed by the 195 members of the United Nations
