What is Neurology?-Neurology is the science of the nerves and the nervous system especially of the diseases affecting them.

What is a Neurologist?  A neurologist is a medical doctor who has trained in the diagnosis and treatment of nervous system disorders, including diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles.  In the process of becoming a neurologist, people in training have to attend four years of premedical education in college or university, four years of medical school, one year internship in either internal medicine or medicine/surgery, and at least three years of specialty training in an accredited neurology residency programs.  There about 74 diseases of medical conditions possibly treated by a neurologist. Also there are about 11 medical tests that can possibly use or diagnosed by a neurologists.  They perform neurological examinations of the nerves of the head and neck; muscle strength and movement; balance, ambulation, and reflexes; and sensation, memory, speech, language, and other cognitive abilities. The training of a neurologist receives enables the individual to recognize nervous system malfunctions, to accurately diagnose the nature of dysfunction (such as disease of injury), and to treat the malady.  Neurologists can also be involved with in clinical research, clinical trials, and even basic research and transitional research. They help counsel patients on health care, diet, and preventive health care.

Neurologist continued…  Neurologists overlap in the field of psychiatry. There are different types of subspecialties in neurology that neurologists can be trained in; clinical neurophysiology, neuromuscular medicine, and vascular neurology.  Clinical neurophysiologists diagnose and manage central, peripheral, and autonomic nervous system disorders using a combination of clinical evaluation and electrophysiological testing such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG), and nerve conduction studies (NCS).  Neuromuscular medicine deals with the diagnosis and management of disorders located in the nerves, muscle or neuromuscular junctions  Vascular neurologists evaluate, prevent, treat, and recover from vascular diseases located in the nervous system.  Many neurologist encounter with disorders such as; Alzheimer’s disease, Autism, the common headache, and the list goes on Moreover to how much neurologists make as a salary, it would have to depend on how many years they have been in that field. For example, if a neurologist was to be in that field for less than a year, they would earn about $104,828. If they were to be in it for more than twenty years, they would earn about $185,073. Other ways you could find out a salary is to narrow in by the company size, city, skills, and their degree.  Moreover to how much neurologists make as a salary, it would have to depend on how many years they have been in that field. For example, if a neurologist was to be in that field for less than a year, they would earn about $104,828. If they were to be in it for more than twenty years, they would earn about $185,073.
