ABSTRACT This project is mainly focused on the water line engineering. The main ambition of our project is how to reduce man power in take the water from deep well and pond. Using plunger pump without usage of electrical energy Our experimental set up consists of PVC pipe cylinder and check valve, foot valve, hose pipe and mainly a plunger arrangement. Any human body worrying while that they under hard word alike take the water from the well or deep pond in small use. so, we make a pump using PVC pipes and plunger without need of electrical energy. The main advantages are nonpolluting and noiseless operation.

INTRODUCTION Now we are in the critical situations that how to save the electrical energy and the alternative way of man power usage with less effort, or less manpower usage while no availability of power, or power cut timings. The project give an idea to take the water from well while power cut times .This pump can be made in home easily without any experience and without help of plumber. Simple and much cost low components are used in this pipe construction. It is the manually operated pump with plunger mechanism. Push and pulling operation is used here with less man effort providing by the plunger fitted inside a PVC cylinder. So that we can give less effort to operate the pump to take water from low head water level well up to 10 meters depth.

SYNOPSYS The project details with the design and fabrication of the PVC home made pump.

COMPONENTS IN DETAIL PVC PIPES: PVC pipes are made by Poly Vinyl Chloride. They are weightless and easy to use in any water line area and more life compare than the steel pipes. CHECK VALVE: Check valves are used for direct the liquid flow in one direction only. They can be used in horizontal or vertical direction. PLUNGER: Plunger is a component that tightly moves along inside cylinder wall and creates pressure inside of cylinder ELBOWS: Elbows are made by the PVC. They are used in bends and reduce the minor losses in the bends by its design. FOOT VALVE: Foot valve are widely known as the foot strainer .It is main object in the any type of the pump. This immersed in the water and it valve open only the pressure inside the cylinder low compare atmosphere.

CONSTRUCTION PVC cylinder is the 2.5” pipe and the plunger model is 2.plunger rod extended to 2.5 feet's. The pump construction looks like a T shape. Check valve and foot valves are in the water flow direction. Plunger is fitted inside the 2.5” cylinder pipe it would be 1.75 feet’s. The inlet and outlet water carriers are 1” PVC pipes. All parts connected using quick setting solution. Check valve used for outlet path. Plunger rod footed with wood hand and the elbows are used in bends.

OPERATION This is manually operated plunger pump. Push and pull operation is main concept here. Pressure reduction inside the cylinder is achieved by the pulling of the plunger towards out. So there is suction force formed. So that foot valve opened and well water comes into hose and cylinder. But now check valve fully closed in outlet part. Then the plunger pushed downward or towards inside the cylinder foot valve closed and check valve opened then the water released to outside. The suction water quantity will be change about length travel of the plunger inside the cylinder. In this design if the length of travel is maximum up to 1.75 feet’s. Water delivery will be 2 liters.

ADVANTAGES No electrical energy is needed Noiseless operation. Operation is made easy Low cost of manufacturing All parts are easily available

DISADVANTAGES Manual operation Plunger movement some times risk Low water delivery

CONCLUSION Thus we have completed our project work successfully with the kind co-operation of our staff guide. This pump working is manual operation. And no electrical energy needed and costless, ecofriendly.
